Metaplex, the protocol famously known for building the token standard for Solana NFTs, has launched Vantage, a fully modular trading terminal designed to give Solana traders greater control over how they research, track, and trade onchain assets. Metaplex already offers tools to “launch onchain assets”, and Vantage now provides a user-defined interface for trading. The terminal is designed to break out of a one-size-fits-all layout: traders can add, remove, resize, and arrange widgets and modules to suit their workflow. In effect, Metaplex is turning the trading dashboard into a toolbox.
According to the company, Vantage replaces fixed layouts with customizable building blocks for charts, order entry, market data, and portfolio tracking. Users can save multiple dashboards for different strategies. For example, separate views for day trading versus long-term positions. The goal is a “terminal that adapts to the trader instead of making the trader adapt to the terminal.” This shift in interface design aims to give Solana traders complete control over how they see markets.
“Trading is personal. Different traders look at different signals, follow different markets and build completely different workflows.” - Stephen Hess, founder of Metaplex
Metaplex teased the product on Monday with a short post reading, “Information moves markets. Wednesday.” Vantage currently launches in beta, with Metaplex planning to expand access and add functionality based on user feedback.
From Token Infrastructure to Consumer Trading
The launch represents another step in Metaplex's expansion beyond its traditional infrastructure business. Metaplex currently generates revenue by charging protocol fees across its onchain programs, including Genesis, Core, Bubblegum, Token Metadata, MPL-Hybrid, and Fusion.
The protocol directs 50% of those fees toward $MPLX for the DAO treasury, while the remaining 50% supports Foundation operations.
Metaplex has averaged more than $40,000 in weekly revenue over the past several weeks, including $41,432 last week.

The DAO's $MPLX buyback program has now repurchased more than 36.5% of the token’s circulating supply over time.

Vantage could give Metaplex another revenue-generating consumer product while potentially strengthening that buyback mechanism.
Genesis Set the Stage
Vantage follows Metaplex's July 2025 expansion into token launches through Genesis. Genesis provides established teams with infrastructure for conducting Onchain Token Offerings, or OTOs, rather than functioning like permissionless memecoin launchpads such as pump.fun and letsBONK.
Its framework supports 3 primary launch mechanisms: Launch Pools, Auctions, and Presales. It also provides infrastructure for token claims, airdrops, tokenomics, and vesting schedules.
That expansion positioned Metaplex closer to the capital formation process. Vantage now moves the company further down the stack, from helping teams create assets to helping users discover and trade them.
A Broader Infrastructure Shift
Metaplex is not alone in moving from back-end infrastructure toward user-facing trading apps. For Metaplex, Vantage connects several parts of its existing ecosystem. Genesis can help teams launch assets, while Vantage can provide a destination for traders to discover, research, and trade them.
The strategy could ultimately bring asset creation, discovery, and trading closer together within Metaplex's broader ecosystem.
