Solana Hits $110 & Bitcoin Reclaims $80K as Crypto Recovers From CLARITY Failing

Altcoins are suddenly moving fast as Bitcoin regains $80,000, Solana reaches $110, and traders pile into higher-beta assets

The crypto market has shifted into a broad recovery, with Bitcoin reclaiming $80,000 and several altcoins posting double-digit gains. Solana has emerged as one of the strongest major assets, while several Solana ecosystem tokens have significantly outperformed the wider market.

Solana Hits $110

Solana hit $110 on Friday after climbing more than 14% in 2 days, rising from roughly $96 to above $110.

The move also extended beyond $SOL itself. Several Solana ecosystem tokens recorded substantial gains over the past 24 hours. Geodnet's $GEOD rose 27.5%, while Collector Crypt's $CARDS gained 29.3%. Backpack's $BP climbed 23.3%, Stonk.fun's $STONK advanced 14.1%, and Raydium's $RAY added 14.5%.

The performance shows how quickly capital can move through an ecosystem when traders begin taking on more risk. These tokens have also outpaced many larger cryptocurrencies during the current rebound.

Bitcoin Reclaims $80,000

Bitcoin has gained more than 5% over the past 24 hours and currently trades above $80,000 after briefly falling toward $75,000 following the Senate's failure to advance the Clarity Act.

Bitcoin's resilience stands out because September has historically been one of its weakest months. Since 2013, Bitcoin has recorded an average September loss of roughly 3%. Despite that history, $BTC has gained about 2% this month.

Bitcoin also gained roughly 25% in August, reaching around $81,000. With less than 2 weeks remaining in the quarter, $BTC has gained about 36%, putting it on course for its first positive quarterly close since Q3 2025.

The market also absorbed the Federal Reserve's first rate hike in more than 3 years, another development that could have pressured risk assets. Yet Bitcoin quickly recovered.

Altcoins Join the Pump

The broader market has followed Bitcoin higher. Most of the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization currently trade in the green over the past 24 hours.

Hyperliquid's $HYPE has gained more than 11% to reach an all-time high of $92, making it one of the strongest performers among major cryptocurrencies. Zcash's $ZEC also jumped 8% to above $1,500 for the first time in 10 years.

Other major altcoins have posted even larger gains. Arbitrum's $ARB has risen more than 28%, while Uniswap's $UNI has gained almost 20%.

The total crypto market capitalization has increased more than 2% to roughly $2.78 trillion.

Solana Rally Gets Fuel From Liquidations, Faster Slots and ETF Inflows

Solana's surge has also pressured leveraged traders, with about $146 million in short positions wiped out within 60 minutes as BTC reclaimed $80,000 and SOL reached $109. Forced liquidations can amplify market moves because traders who bet against an asset must close their positions as prices rise.

The price move comes as Solana reaches another technical milestone. Its slot time has fallen to 250 milliseconds for the first time after the latest reduction under SIMD-0525 went live at epoch 1037. The network previously targeted 400ms slots and now targets 200ms, representing the final target under the current reduction plan.

Meanwhile, U.S. spot Solana ETFs have recorded $13.19 million in net inflows so far this week, providing another source of demand for $SOL.

In his weekly memo on Wednesday, Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan stated that it was a “shame” that the Clarity Act failed to pass but maintained that “Clarity’s failure may matter far less than today’s headlines suggest.” The price action since Tuesday’s vote in the Senate may have well justified his thesis.
