Building on its meteoric growth in 2025, Helium Network is expanding its product line to the internet users of tomorrow. After successfully launching the world’s first free mobile plan, Helium today debuts Sprout, a parent-managed mobile plan aimed at keeping kids safe in a hyper-connected world.
With 51% of children aged eight and below having a mobile device, internet access has never been more available for the younger generation. As a result, families are growing increasingly concerned about how they can best protect their children online, while still reaping the benefits that come from being part of a connected world.
Helium’s new offering gives kids their own line for $5 per month, while parents or guardians retain control over the connection as Group Administrators. Administrators are responsible for managing the account, setting boundaries, approving usage, and monitoring data directly from their phones.
“The Helium Mobile Kids Plan is about flexibility, safety, and affordability, without compromising connection. We know families are balancing a lot, so we created a plan that gives kids their first phone line and keeps parents firmly in the driver's seat, while still giving kids the freedom to text a friend or call grandma." - Coco Tang, General Manager of Helium Mobile Subscribers
Alongside extensive parental controls, the new mobile plan for kids does not harness anonymized location data to expand Helium’s network coverage. This measure ensures that Helium remains compliant with data privacy standards specific to minors.
Sprout subscribers can expect to receive up to 3GBs of 5G data, alongside unlimited texts and calls.
Following the success of its free mobile plan, Helium is kicking off a summer-long New York City campaign, teaming up with local businesses to bring DePIN-powered free mobile plans to one of the world’s most expensive cities. Helium’s Kids Plan extends that vision to the younger generation, offering parents peace of mind over their children’s internet habits.
Helium Daily Users Up 261% YTD
Helium’s foray into the family-focused mobile plans comes as the DePIN project witnesses unprecedented growth across key metrics like daily user count and data transfer. .
According to the Helium World explorer, the network supports over 952k daily users by providing coverage to third-party telecom operators, like recent partner AT&T. Helium now facilitates the transfer of over 32 TB of data every day, a figure that has steadily increased since the DePIN project partnered with Movistar in Q1 2025.
Helium’s dramatic growth in recent months could also be attributed to the SEC’s recent dismissal of a lawsuit against its parent company, Nova Labs, in April 2025.
