Sanctum Mobile App Attracts Over 9,000 Users Following Strong Launch Week

Sanctum Mobile depositors enjoy 6% APY on staked $SOL

Sanctum’s new mobile app is already exceeding expectations. Over 9,000 wallets have signed up to the application, amassing over $1M in deposits within its first week.

Beyond offering staking yields that outperform the average rate, Sanctum’s mobile app attempts to be more than a financial tool, tapping into the engaging rewards mechanics of iconic platforms like The Sims and Animal Crossing.

The launch comes after nearly three years of expansion, which has seen Sanctum grow its $SOL-denominated TVL for 11 consecutive quarters.

Sanctum Mobile App Amasses $1.1M TVL Within Days of Launch

Just over one week on from its iOS and Android launch, the Sanctum mobile app is off to a flying start. According to internal data shared with SolanaFloor, over 9,000 users have registered to the application, depositing over 14,000 $SOL in a bid to grow their gardens.

Aside from its refreshingly non-crypto UI, one of the Sanctum mobile app’s strongest drawcards is its competitive staking rewards. Currently, Sanctum mobile stakers are earning ~6% APY on their $SOL, outperforming what Blockworks data considers to be the 30D network average of 4.22%.

Sanctum mobile’s UI suggests that $USDC deposits are also on the way, giving users a diversified range of ways to generate yield and earn rewards.

What’s Next for Albus?

Designed with a broader audience in mind, the Sanctum mobile app eschews the hyper-financialization that has become standard across the crypto industry. Instead, Sanctum is tapping into a more fun, accessible, and whimsical branding that is more palatable to the general public.

On top of watching their $SOL, and soon-to-be $USDC rewards roll in every day, users earn in-game rewards like unique cosmetics and furniture pieces. These items can be used to decorate and personalize the home and garden of Albus, the app’s lovable main character.

Similar to the viral engagement loop seen in iconic games and applications like The Sims, Tamagotchi, and Animal Crossing. In the future, players may even be able to visit their friends’ homes, and stake $SOL and $USDC to earn in-app currencies which can be exchanged for unique pieces.

Sanctum Records 11 Straight Quarters of $SOL-Denominated TVL Growth

While the mobile app seeks to engage and attract a more traditional audience, Sanctum continues to increase its onchain footprint. Led by its flagship product, the Infinity LST pool, Sanctum has been one of Solana DeFi’s most consistent performers.

According to DefiLlama data, Sanctum’s $SOL-denominated TVL has recorded consistent growth over 11 quarters, currently amassing a total of 16.9M $SOL. This makes Sanctum the second largest protocol on Solana by TVL.
