Pump.fun Reintroduces Livestreaming in Bid to Bring Back Activity
After sunsetting the feature due to antisocial behavior, pump.fun welcomes back livestreaming

Seeking to rescue a floundering meme economy, Solana’s viral token launcher app is bringing back one of its most controversial features.
Pump.fun’s polarizing livestreaming feature, which helped the platform briefly facilitate over 69k token launches per day in November, is now subject to a strict moderation policy.
How is pump.fun protecting viewers, and will the return of livestreams bring clicks back to the application?
Pump.fun’s Debuts Livestream Moderation Policy
Back in November 2024, pump.fun was attracting maximum attention for all the wrong reasons. Desperate to pump their memecoins, token creators resorted to increasingly depraved acts. Horror stories included everything from animal abuse to child abuse, with creators effectively blackmailing viewers into buying tokens.
In the face of mounting criticism and calls for intervention from the authorities, pump.fun ultimately disabled the feature.
However, the livestream meta marked one of the platform’s biggest ever periods in terms of user activity. From the 17th to 23rd of November, pump.fun witnessed a daily average of 50,295 token deployments, significantly higher than its current output of ~22k launches per day.
pump.fun’s reintroduction of the livestreaming feature is arguably an attempt to revive activity on the platform, which is suffering under stagnating market conditions.
This time around, however, pump.fun is eager to protect users and restrict antisocial behavior on token livestreams. As part of a new Livestream Moderation Policy, pump.fun will prohibit the following:
-
Violence
-
Harassment
-
Sexual Content
-
Youth Endangerment
-
Illegal Activities
-
Privacy Violations
-
Copyright Violations
-
Terrorism or Violent Extremism
According to the policy, pump.fun will immediately terminate livestreams operated by guilty parties and suspend them from further access to the platform. However, this is something on an empty threat, given that perpetrators can easily reconnect to the site using a different wallet to launch further harmful livestreams.
Pump.fun Activity Dwindles
Solana’s languishing memecoin market has hit pump.fun hard. Despite launching its own AMM, pump.fun’s daily revenue has fallen off a cliff.
Multiple data sources, including Dune Analytics and DefiLlama, report that pump.fun’s daily revenue has dropped over 87% from its all-time high, tumbling from over $7M to record $885k in revenue over the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, pump.fun daily token deployments have stabilized in recent weeks, hovering around the 27,000 mark. At its current rate, pump.fun is expected to crack its next big milestone, 10M token launches, within ~30 days.
